"A Colorful and Fascinating Futuristic Ride"
Since was fourteen, Kerra has worked in the Science
Ministry think tank on Divras Four, using synthetic organs
to develop a new treatment for neurological damage. Kerra
wanted to help humanity, but her superiors plan to use her
findings as a weapon of war. Kerra deletes her files
including the back-ups so that no one can abuse her work.
Because of her actions, the state declares her a criminal,
forcing her to need a means to sneak off planet. She buys a ship, but requires a pilot to fly it. Meanwhile,
the state confiscates the ship of Aden Locke for carrying
contraband. Kerra offers him ownership of her ship plus
money to take her with him if he agrees to make her his
partner. This is the beginning of their adventures
together, as a murderous enemy wants Locke dead and bounty
hunters chase Kerra. They fall in love knowing neither
currently has much hope for a long-term relationship. Norma McPhee has written a fascinating futuristic romance
that will remind INTO THE FIRE takes the audience on
quite a colorful ride as the reader visits several planets
populated by different species. Though the visual
descriptions of the various worlds and its races are
incredible, the lead couple is awesome as they traverse the
universe together. Harriet Klausner
