"Keep a tissue handy for this wonderful historical!"
No young girl should have had to endure the life that
Laurel James had. But, in the last several years she had
risen above it and started a new life for herself. She was
finally gaining the respectability that she so desperately
craved and deserved. Laurel was now engaged to Murphy
Yates, a very prominant and kind gentleman but, kept
putting off the date. She wasn't quite sure if it was the
right match. Certainly, she liked and respected him well
enough, and he treated her like gold. However, Laurel knew
that more than that she wanted to be head over heals in
love. Only once before had she ever dared dream of giving
her heart to a man. A man whom she thought abandoned her. Brodie Murphy, aptly named "Shenandoah" surfaces after
being a spy for the Confederate cause. He is shocked to find
that Laurel is engaged to his brother. He threatens Laurel
that if she doesn't break off the engagement to his brother
he will reveal her past. Laurel and Brodie face emotional turmoil with their inner
conflicts and wounds. Both want to find some sort of peace
within their lives but, must confront and overcome many
difficult situations including the feelings of Murphy
Yates. The one thing that is constant is their inward feelings for one another. REDEMPTION is a perfect title for this heart wrenching
historical romance. It had me in tears
to read this beautiful love story between two flawed
characters who finally found the love that
they believed they didn't deserve. Linda Broday, once again,
creates characters who come
to life as real people with real problems. Readers will
become consumed with another fantastic
read from this talented writer.
