"A great read!"
Miranda Carter had a life altering event happen where
she nearly lost her life. She had to go home to recuperate
and when she got home she decided that she couldn't go back
to her former life. So she opens up a dog training school
next door to the vet's office where her best friend Penny
works. She and Penny also are friends with Colin and
Travis. They've been a foursome since grade school but
nothing ever came of it except friendship. Now Miranda thinks she wants to take things a step
farther with Colin but isn't sure Colin feels the same way.
Still Penny goads her into seeing for herself if Colin is
interested. Miranda is oh so tempted but what will that do
to the friendship and the foursome? Does Miranda want to
risk all that? Penny is attracted to Travis as well but he's rich
and is a doctor and she just works for a vet. What does
she have to offer him? Even though Travis asks Penny out
constantly, Penny is very self-conscious of their huge gap
in status! Miranda sets up a seduction scene from a magazine
but while Colin craves her, he refuses to go further
because she used to date his brother Derek who was killed
in an accident. He thinks that she is seducing him because
of Derek. Miranda broke up with Derek just before he was
killed and feels guilty about it. Even though it was a
mutual break up she thinks she will be blamed. Then Colin
is in an accident and develops amnesia. He forgets
everything that happened that night. Then he's accused of
sexual harassment due to something he supposedly did to his
intern that very same night. What is he to do? He just has
to get his memory back. Miranda decides to fudge the truth about that night
and tells Colin she seduced him. The problem is she gets
further and further into her story and the story just keeps
getting more and more complicated What will Colin do when
he gets his memory back? I'm sorry to say that I read this book in an hour
and a half. I know it took Samantha Hunter much longer to
write it but I just couldn't help myself. I was anxious to
see how she would handle not only Miranda and Colin's story
but also Penny and Travis' story. I'm happy to say that I
was satisfied on both levels! Thanks, Samantha, for a
great read!
