"I thoroughly enjoyed this one!"
Jacey Wheeler turned her back on her very wealthy
family and started a private investigating business on her
own. She is doing quite well and has an office manager and
a wonderful co-worker. She has just been asked to take a
very intriguing case. It seems a very wealthy man who owns
a successful business wants her company to investigate
which of his relatives is the best to take over his company. Jacey asks her co-worker Lucky Boucher to help out
in this investigation. Lucky knows he's way out of his
league being bayou born and all but he enjoys his job and
working for Jacey. She doesn't treat him like an employee
but as an equal. What Jacey doesn't know if Lucky has a
very big secret that could ruin their working relationship
if it ever came to light. As Jacey and Lucky get involved in this case, more
and more secrets are uncovered and they become closer and
closer. How will they ever get to the bottom of this
intriguing case especially if Vinny Tomsino tells them how
he wants the investigation to go or else. I was totally intrigued with this fascinating
story. As much as I wanted to see how the story turned
out, I almost didn't want it to end. Lucky and Jacey were
excellent characters that belonged together after they had
to get a few things straight and figure things out for
themselves. I have several of Kylie Brant's books in my
huge TBR mountain of books. Now I must find time to dig
them out and read them!
