"Magically awesome!"
In this sequel to PRINCE OF CHARMING we meet Ariel, deposed
queen of the Pillywiggins, the flower fairies. Ariel was
stripped of her rank when she defended Robin Goodfellow,
Oberon's son, from Titania, Queen of all the Fae. Feeling
useless and no longer needed, Ariel agrees to check on
Oberon's grandchild, the mortal baby of Robin and Kate, and
send back a report to Oberon. At the first sight of the baby, Ariel is enchanted and
decides she wants a baby too. But the Fae can't impregnate
each other so she needs a mortal to get pregnant by. She
chooses Rand Thayer, Robin's brother-in-law for the job. Rand has no intentions of getting anyone pregnant however.
With ten sisters and a horde of nieces and nephews, he has
no desire to have any children of his own. This is until he
meets Ariel LeFay. It doesn't take much seducing on Ariel's
part and before you know it she is pregnant. Not able to
return to the Fae while pregnant, Ariel has until the
baby's birth, a month, to be with Rand and then she intends
to take the baby and go back to the Fae. Rand has other
plans. But can he convince her in just a month to stay with
him in the mortal world? Magically awesome! The scenes were so vivid that I felt a
part of the magic and wonder of the world of the Fae. It
all seemed so real. Having read PRINCE OF CHARMING I knew I
would be entertained and I wasn't disappointed. Scenes
where Ariel's magic goes awry had me rolling with laughter
and seeing tears become opals and hic-cups become
buttercups made this reader smile. I also will NEVER look
at green jello the same way again.
