"A warm, tender love story"
After Phyllis Langford and Matt Sheffield give into
temptation one hot and passionate evening, they go their own
separate ways, glad to know that neither of them wants more
from the other than that one irresistible encounter. But
then Phyllis discovers that despite the fact that they used
birth control, she is pregnant. She decides to keep the baby
and she doesn't want anything from Matt, but she does think
that he has a right to know. After the initial shock, Matt
is at first relieved that Phyllis doesn?t expect anything of
him because he doesn't think he would be a good father, but
then he starts to feel guilty about letting Phyllis bear the
burden of the pregnancy, so he talks her into letting him
help her out around the house, just until the baby is born.
As they prepare for the blessed event, Matt and Phyllis
gradually become friends, and maybe a little more. But
Phyllis has a difficult time with allowing herself to trust
and need a man, and Matt knows that with his background, the
baby and Phyllis would be much better off without him. JUST AROUND THE CORNER had an interesting plot twist, with
hot sex between two almost strangers in the first few pages,
and then the gradual development of trust, friendship and
love between them. Matt had a lot of bad family and personal
history to overcome first before he could allow himself to
even think about trying to be a father to a child. Phyllis
seems very understanding and has helped him along nicely
with his problems, but will she be still care for him when
she learns the details of his past? A warm, tender love
story.

SummaryA baby...just around the corner
Phyllis Langford is everybody's friend and nobody's lover.
Until she succumbs to the unexpected temptation of Matt
Sheffield -- and soon after, discovers she's pregnant.
Matt's a loner, a man who hides from the possibility of
love and family. Just as well, in Phyllis's opinion, since
she doesn't want or need anything from him. Not one single
thing. But Matt can't quite leave it at that...
New beginnings... just around the corner
Matt and Phyllis arrive at an agreement -- he'll help her
out. That's all. He'll drive her to the doctor, take care
of her household chores. But this agreement gradually
leads them to a bigger involvement in each other's lives,
and by New Year's Eve, they're ready for the biggest
involvement of all: marriage.
Which is a good thing, because as it turns out there are
two babies waiting just around the corner. Happy New Year,
Phyllis, Matt and twins-to-be!
