REVIEW

"More than just a love story!"

Gideon First and Lupe Amarado have just become engaged and plan tentatively to be married in about three months. Lupe takes a call from a lawyer trying to get in touch with Gideon, but when she asks Gideon what the lawyer wants he tells her that it is a case of mistaken identity. In reality it is about Gideon being the father of a fourteen month little girl. Gideon had dated Becky Runyon until twenty-three months ago when she moved to Dallas. He had only seen her once since they stopped dating and she didn't mention a baby then or afterwards. He didn't want to tell Lupe unless he proved to be the father of Janna. Well, Gideon is Janna's father and when he tells Lupe, he tells her that he is not sure he wants to raise the baby and he is considering adoption as one of his options. Lupe couldn't understand why he lied to her about what the lawyer wanted and there was no way Gideon could make her understand his reasoning Lupe breaks the engagement and sends him the ring he had given her.

Lupe is the widowed mother of two children and they love Gideon as much as she does, but she cannot be with a man who would give away his own child. She is also hurt that he has a child by another woman, a woman that he must have been seeing at the same time he was seeing her. Lupe, Gideon and Nick their friend had planned to open a rehabilitation clinic in Coyote Springs, Texas as soon as Lupe received her Masters in Physical Therapy from Texas University at Coyote Springs. Now Lupe couldn't see being in a partnership with Gideon.

GIDEON'S BABY is more than just a love story. It is the story of how lies can destroy a relationship. Gideon is a man with faults, faults he never thought about until his engagement to Lupe was over and the knowledge that he was a father hit him over the head. Lupe still loves her late husband and, in my opinion, thinks Gideon should be as good as or better than Miguel. They also have to fight betrayal and prejudice in a small Texas town. Love does overcome all these obstacles and gives us a wonderful story.

Summary

First comes love, then comes marriage...maybe! Gideon First has found the woman he loves, wants to marry and spend the rest of his life with. But wedded bliss may not be his after his ex-girlfriend charges that the child she secretly gave birth to is Gideon's.

Of course the news that her husband-to-be has fathered a child out of wedlock stuns Lupe Amorado. But what really shocks her is that Gideon considers putting his adorable little daughter up for adoption. He has his reasons, but Lupe's not sure she even wants to hear them.

Suddenly Gideon and Lupe have two crises to deal with-- Gideon's baby, and a wedding that's been put on hold!
