REVIEW

"Action/adventure romance."

Danny Sinofsky is devastated when he goes blind in the middle of a bust. Frustrated and scared -- though he'd never admit it -- he pulls back into himself and thinks he'd rather die than live without his eyesight. Mobility instructor Martha Crowe tries to help him learn to adapt to his condition, never telling him that she knew him in high school and had a huge crush on him.

Danny rejects her help, refusing to believe that his eyesight is permanently gone. But soon, Danny's life is in danger and so is Martha's because of her proximity to him and a brief glimpse she gets of a killer. Now, Danny must have Martha's help to keep them both safe. When they learn to work as a team, their attraction ignites and it becomes even more important to survive.

This was definitely an action/adventure type book, more so than the romance. The love between Danny and Martha is what I would term sweet, rather than hot and steamy. Though there's definitely a sexual attraction, the two are bonding through a really stressful situation and their love seems very real. While I liked this author's writing style, I did feel as if this storyline didn't offer anything new to the disabled cop stories I've read in the past. A nice light read.

Summary

FROM DARKNESS

Bullets are whizzing around him, but he can't shoot back. In the middle of a weapons bust, undercover cop Danny Sinofsky suddenly goes blind. Now this man who has always looked out for himself can't cross a room without the help of his rehab instructor, Martha Crowe. Furious and frustrated, he'd almost rather die than live this way—and someone is more than willing to grant him his wish.

TO DANGER

Hiding her emotions behind a calm, practical facade, Martha is sure Danny doesn't remember her, the plain girl from high school who had a crush on him. When she witnesses an attack on his life, the two are thrown into a safe house, and this man without sight starts to see deep inside the soul of a courageous, passionate woman. Their very lives will depend on their fragile connection . . . and their ability to combine Danny's razor-sharp instincts with Martha's eyes and move as one. Because an enemy is stalking them, forcing them to go on the run, and moving in closer and closer for the kill.
