"Hot, intriguing romantic suspense with great characters."
Aimee Devlin has a reputation among her friends and
coworkers as being a woman who puts the almighty dollar
sign at the top of her priority list. Since she and two
friends have just started their own business, leaving their
FBI jobs, she finds herself struggling for dollars. That's
why, when an undercover job leads to a CIA contact, she
seems more concerned about what they'll pay her than about
saving the country from a nuclear threat. Race Gardner is immediately attracted to the daredevil,
confident Aimee. Before he knows what's happening, the two
of them are in the midst of a hot relationship that makes
it hard for him to focus. But focus he must -- he's the CIA
contact that Aimee is working with and he needs to keep
both of them alive and stop the threat to the U.S. When Aimee is kidnapped and ends up the apparent girlfriend
of a notorious gunrunner, Race tries not to lose faith,
despite the hesitation of everyone who knows Aimee. Would
she betray her country for the megabuck lifestyle the
gunrunner can offer her? This is a hot book and Aimee is a great heroine. She's
spunky as hell and that little bit of mercenary streak
makes her intriguing. Race is a "typical" romance book CIA
agent -- hot stuff and semi-dangerous to boot. I like Ms.
Ford's work and recommend I SPY for its interesting
storyline and great characterizations.
