"Cleverly written suspense."
Michelle Michaels is a seasoned journalist employed by the
Manhattan Business Journal. While working on a profile
piece, her professional mannerism is rumored to be
unethical. In an attempt to avoid a major scandal at the Journal,
Michelle is transferred to her hometown of Detroit, where
she's assigned to work as a features columnist at the
Detroit Herald. Michelle hopes she can really luck out on a
scoop, something she can sink herself into and thus make a
name for herself. However, Michelle's hopes are shattered
when she's assigned to write an article on the Wiggles, a
popular children's act. To make things more hectic, Michelle meets fellow Herald
reporter Wesley Abbot, who makes her senses go haywire and
her blood run hot. Wesley's motto has been "no commitment
with women," just fun and games. Michelle, on the other
hand, has suffered heartache in her love life and
professional life and has decided that guys at work are
definitely off limits for any type of personal
relationship. Wesley and Michelle have more in common than just their
love of jazz. Each has personal feelings about family
matters and a scandal to report that could possibly win one
of them a Pulitzer. There's also their relationship being
more than professional, on and off the job. The perfect
answer to Wesley and Michelle's dilemma is for one of them
to just say yes. IF YOU JUST SAY YES was an easy read with likable
characters and witty dialogue. I enjoyed the story.
