REVIEW

"Indian romance is very good debut novel for this author."

Five years ago, Walks In Shadow left his adopted nephew at the door of a kind white family, vowing to return and reclaim him one day. Although he's white, he's lived with his Comanche people since he was taken as a small boy and must learn the white man's ways before he can reclaim his nephew.

Samantha Timberlake loves the horse ranch that will one day be hers. At 25, she has no plans to ever wed and has settled her mind on becoming an old maid. That is until Holden Walker (Walks In Shadow) arrives at Timberoaks and stirs something in her that she's never felt before. Holden's plan was to ride in and get a job so he can reacquaint himself with his nephew, but all thoughts soon shift to the unattainable Samantha.

When Samantha's father suddenly dies, she's unprepared, and the reading of the will places Timberoaks under control of a neighbor until Samantha either weds or turns 30. Now she needs Holden's help more than ever. But Holden and Samantha's attraction is too great, and he feels he needs to leave because he has nothing to offer. Now it's up to Samantha to make him want to stay.

This story took off with a bang, and I really enjoyed it. There was a lot of action and adventure, and the characters were awesome. However, I felt the story seemed to cool down and become less romantic at the end. Still, this debut novel is a very good read.
