"Another great contemporary romance from this author."
As headmistress of the prestigious Emerson Academy, Hannah
Frost has heard her share of whoppers from the spoiled,
over-privileged students she oversees. And she's had her
share of meetings with their spoiled, over-privileged
parents. When young Alex Sawyer appears in her office with
a referral from his teacher, it's just business as usual.
Although Alex's tall tales of a secret agent father far
surpass most students' storytelling abilities, in Hannah's
mind lies are still lies and must be dealt with swiftly. It's been a long while since Michael Sawyer has been called
to the principle's office and he's less than pleased with
the summons. Michael is also disturbed by his son's
stories, but for an entirely different reason. As it
happens, Alex's stories are all true. Michael is in town to
investigate local businessman Adrian Windsor. Adrian has
ties to the school and also apparently to Hannah, therefore
Michael plans to research the past and present of the
chilly Ms. Frost. As Michael delves deeper into his investigation of Hannah,
he learns things about her that touch him in a way he's not
entirely comfortable with. He and Hannah share a mutual and
powerful attraction, but a wall of lies, on both their
parts, stands like a barrier between them. Their
relationship finally erupts in a fiery affair that has them
both reassessing the choices they've made. Before they can
plan a possible future together, they must first come to
terms with the separate and painful events of their pasts. Always an entertaining author, Ms Bevarly delivers again
with JUST LIKE A MAN. Yes, there's a lot in the book that
defies logical, real world explanation. But isn't that why
you choose to read romance? The theme of redeeming love is
real enough, even if the setting always isn't. So sit back
and enjoy!

SummaryHe won't tell you about his feelings.
He'll keep his secret life a secret.
He'll turn on the sex appeal to light your fire,
then leave you smoldering as he runs off
to parts unknown ...
Isn't that ...
JUST LIKE A MAN?
His imaginative nine-year-old son claims he's a spy, but
for Hannah Frost, headmistress of the elite Emerson
Academy, Michael Sawyer is just another wealthy single
parent with a precious -- and precocious -- little darling.
Oh, the man is certainly handsome and sexy enough to leave
her both shaken and stirred -- hey, nobody does it better --
but a secret agent? Come on!
Yet truth is sometimes stranger than fiction. Turns out
Michael is working undercover to unravel a web of intrigue
and deception involving, of all things, her school! He
reluctantly enlists her help, and as their liaison draws
them closer together, Hannah is thrust into a world far
more exciting -- and dangerous -- than any she's ever
known. One where people aren't what they seem and where
words, even ones of love, may not be true.
