"Debut in this new Pet Sitter mystery series is excellent."
After a scandal in her law firm forced Kendra Ballantyne to
resign amidst media-fueled publicity, Kendra is desperate
for a job to pay the bills and keep her mind from going
berserk. She starts working for a friend in dire straits as
a pet sitter. She feels this sort of innocuous occupation
will distance her enough from her former life to allow her
to start over, scandal-free. This minor illusion of hope is
shattered when one of her pet sitting clients is killed
while she's on duty. Now she's eager to help with
stranger's animals, dodge publicity and discover who's
setting her up in her new job. Johnston's debut mystery series is excellently written and
pays close attention to detail. Readers will be eager to
watch Kendra adjust and then revel in her new life. This is
a wonderful book for winter reading.
