"Fantastic addition to the Dark Hunter series!"
This is the latest story in Ms. Kenyon's Dark Hunter
series. I've had the pleasure to read and review five of
them. With each new story, I get the opportunity to revisit
the past heroes and come to understand these characters
more thoroughly. Valerius Magnus indeed joins Kyrian,
Talon, Zarek and Wulf as a memorable hero for me. This
story has a different mood about it, one of almost a somber
finality set inside a tornado. Valerius is accepting of his position, of his punishment
and is convinced he deserves everyone's hatred. When
Tabitha Devereaux, a human tornado of actions and emotions,
befriends him, the world as he knows it is tossed upside
down. Feelings of warmth and companionship so foreign to
him give Valerius a strong desire to keep Tabitha in his
life, yet he cannot. First, he's forbidden to have a mate,
and second, he discovers that Tabitha is Kyrian's sister-in-
law. Tabitha is a twin to Amanda, the woman who saved
Kyrian's soul and earned his freedom to become a mortal
man. Valerius is Kyrian's most hated enemy and he would
never want to keep Tabitha from the family she so loves. However, Tabitha's family is marked and Valerius, as well
as the rest of the Dark Hunters and all who know Valerius,
must put their hatred for him aside to strive toward a
common goal. SEIZE THE NIGHT is a story of danger with high stakes as
the Dark Hunter's enemies learn secrets that give them an
edge. It's also a story of Tabitha's empathy and love for
people, her ability to look past reputations and
accusations to see the person's real heart. This story
attacks the obstacles to principles and propriety and goes
for the gold -- love conquers all.

SummaryValerius isn't a popular Dark-Hunter-he's a Roman, which
means that the
largely Greek Hunters have a major grudge against him and
his
civilization for superceding them. To make things worse,
he's very conscious of
his aristocratic background and breeding. So it serves him
right when
he runs into Tabitha Devereaux. She's sassy, sexy, and
completely
unwilling to take him seriously. (Not to mention that
she's the twin sister
of the wife of former Dark-Hunter Kyrian-Val's mortal
enemy.) What
Tabitha does take seriously is hunting and killing
vampires-and soon she and
Val have to grapple with the deadliest of all Daimons-one
who's managed
to come back from the dead, and one who holds a serious
grudge against
both of them. To win against evil, Val will have to loosen
up, learn to
trust, and put everything on the line to protect a man he
hates and a
woman who drives him nuts.
