REVIEW

"Action, intrigue, sexy characters and a dash of humor."

Jazz Zeringue is one of the best Navy SEALS, expediting his job in the most efficient manner expected, successfully completing his missions. Secretly, though, Jazz is everyone's idea of the best brother around. Jazz has just completed a hard mission and is due for some mental R&R. But while he's trying to get a "forget it all" buzz from a couple of beers, he sees a young woman about to sell herself to some drunken GI. He can see the fear in her eyes and he wants to spare her this experience if only for a few days. Jazz "buys" her time and is about to take the young woman to the back curtained off area of the bar when an old woman tells him to leave. Jazz is determined to spare the young girl, ignoring the old woman. Before he knows it, he's the victim of a sex sting operation and finds himself behind bars in a foreign country accused of sex crimes.

Jazz knows he'll get out -- it's just a matter of when that will be. SEALS always have someone covering their backs. He doesn't have to wait long, but it's a beautiful and disapproving woman, Vivi Verreau, who reluctantly has him released. Her methods are too secretive and Jazz is intrigued, convinced that there's much more to this mysterious woman.

Vivi doesn't like military guys. She works daily at saving young women from a life of prostitution to men wearing uniforms. Yet Jazz doesn't quite fit the mold of the typical GI and he's quite something to look at, as well. Jazz will soon learn that there's more to Vivi than being an avenging savior to young women. He decides to stick to her like glue and discover her secrets. And, boy, does he ever.

Ms. Low continues to deliver great action, intrigue and sexy characters. THE PROTECTOR is packed with action, intrigue and romance with a bit of humor. Sometimes a girl has to like having a protector around who isn't like a brother. Jazz fits the description quite nicely.

Summary

When the best of intentions gets Jazz arrested overseas, he couldn't be more surprised to find Vivi Verreau ready to spring him out of jail. Obviously more than the civilian she claims to be, he's sure Vivi is hiding an agenda ... and he's determined to stick by her side until he uncovers all her secrets. A covert agent who shrouds herself in disguises, and who fearlessly jumps into dangerous situations without thoughts for her own safety, Vivi has no need for a protector. But if she is to have any hope of completing her most important mission, she'll have no choice but to recruit Jazz and his men.
