When ex cop, turned PI, Danni Hawkins father is found dead she accepts his death when it is ruled as a suicide. After all, he was found with a gun in his hand and a note. She had mixed feelings over his death, as they had a strained relationship. She felt nothing she did was ever good enough for her police officer father, Paddy Hawkins. Growing up he spent more time with his "boys" than he did with her. His involvement with troubled youth took all his time aways from Danni and she had always resented that. She was not too happy when one of those "boys" showed up at her PI office to discuss her father's death.

Ex Army Ranger, Nick Sorroco had definitely change since the last time Danni saw him, so long ago. He was now a man, and a very handsome one at that but, it didn't change the fact that she sitll resented him. He had come to Danni with suspicions surrounding Paddy's death. Nick was the last person who had heard from him. The message Paddy left on his answering machine had lead Nick to believe he was murdered.At first, Danni is skeptical and she is reluctant to pursue the matter.

However, as things began to happen Danni questions her father's death. She and Nick begin to unravel facts that are unbelievable. They need to find proof and, then most of all, who is the mastermind behind this evil. Time and time again the two put their lives on the line for Paddy and each other. They come to develop a deep trust and finally an even deeper love. But, with danger lurking in the backround will these two even live long enough to enjoy the happiness they deserve?

Summary
