REVIEW

"Fascinating romance with paranormal plot."

In this exciting, heart-pumping story, Tori Carson isn't quite the woman to stay in one place. She moves her seven- year-old daughter, Caitlin, to a small town in California. Caitlin knows enough to know that this is the wrong move for them, but her mother decides they will stay.

Soon, Tori is missing and Caitlin's school principal, Craig Weston, calls Caitlin's Aunt Tess in New York and asks her to come get her young niece. Tess rushes to Mountain Bend, but won't settle for the Sheriff's assertion that her sister skipped town. Grant Weston, Tori's employer, has reported his father died in a farm accident, a large sum of money is missing and said Tori was supposedly working out at his farm when those events occurred.

Tess is more than worried, considering that her sister's mental health has been in question. Their mother was committed years before and their relationship with their father was strained. But Tess knows her sister would never leave her daughter.

Strange things start to happen to Tess once she arrives in Mountain Bend. She has blackouts and starts to recall experiences that could not have possibly happened to her. Tess intermittently steps back in the past into the body of another woman who has made a long journey to find out what has happened to her sister who has died.

Parallels abound in this story with chilling events and a display of women with the willpower to never stop until justice is served. Brothers Craig and Grant Weston show an interest in Tess, and she is passionately drawn to Grant. While in the past, Molly accompanies brothers Adam and Brodie Weston to California so she can be near her nephew, Arlie.

As the ending draws nearer, events from the past coincide with events from the present and Tess is unsure of where it will lead, but she knows she must help Molly discover the truth.

I highly recommend this book. Ms. Grady has delivered a story so fascinating, you'll want to read it in one sitting. I was drawn equally to the story from the past and the present, the strong characters and the plot. Where has this author been? And when is her next story coming out? I'm sure those will be your questions after you read ECHOES.
