REVIEW

"Intiguing murder mystery."

Twelve years ago, Samantha Innes was brutally murdered and her young lover convicted of the crime. Living peacefully in Aspen, Colorado, with her orthopedic surgeon husband, Dr. Thomas Innes, Julia Innes is as happy as a lark working as a low-profile lawyer for the D.A. That is until the confession of a dying nurse prompts the D.A. to re-open the Samantha Innes murder case. Thomas becomes the number one suspect, and the D.A. has him jailed. Julia kicks into high gear and calls her friend, Ellen Marshall, a successful criminal lawyer. They form a core group of people, including one of the police officers who investigated the murder and helped get the conviction 12 years ago.

The cop, Denver Homicide Detective Cameron Lazlo, currently works for author Victor Ferris, who writes crime novels and loosely bases his main character, Luke Diamond, on Cameron's experiences. Victor tells Cameron to keep him posted on the new investigation, so he can include it in his latest book.

As Cameron heads to Aspen, he's sure they convicted the right man 12 years ago, but as the investigation unfolds and he conducts numerous interviews, he's not so sure. Then there's the beautiful second wife of Tom Innes. Cameron finds himself attracted to Julia and must watch as she, completely devoted to her husband, submits to his abuse and neglect and even makes excuses for him. But Julia is not immune to Cameron's handsome Scandinavian looks and sculptured body. They resist the attraction at all costs, but some things are just meant to be.

Ms. Erickson's murder mystery kept me intrigued until the very end to find out who murdered Samantha Innes and why. This story is well developed and executed. I recommend it.

We gotta tell you, our new book Husband and Lover is positively our best Aspen thriller yet, ripped from the headlines and exquisitely timed—with absolutely no intentional connection to the real-life death penalty trial filling the news. Is the brilliant, sexy husband hero or killer? Will the jury buy his alibi; will the local Aspenites be able to overlook eyewitness testimony to convict their hometown hero of the most blood-curdling crime? Well, we aren't telling, that's for sure. One thing we can tell you—Husband and Lover is a true page- turner. You're going to love it!

Summary

Twelve years ago, a man was convicted of killing the beautiful wife of an up-and-coming orthopedic surgeon in Aspen, Colorado.

HIGH STAKES

Now new evidence has emerged, forcing the district attorney to release the man convicted of the crime—and arrest the victim's husband, Dr. Thomas Innes. No one is more shocked—or outraged—by this recent turn of events than Dr. Innes's new wife, Deputy DA Julia Innes...

HOT PASSION

Former homicide detective Cameron Lazlo is also stunned by Innes's arrest. An officer on the case, he had no doubt they'd nabbed the right guy. So it doesn't take much to convince him to team up with Julia—even though she's bright and sexy enough to be a major distraction. But the closer they get to the truth, the riskier the investigation gets—until there is no one left to trust except each other...
