"Another wonderful McKettrick brothers romance!"
As the buggy pulls up to the Triple M Ranch with Chloe
Wakefield at the reins, we know that Jeb McKettrick is in
trouble -- BIG trouble. There is no place to run and no
place to hide. Chloe is a woman abandoned, a woman scorned,
a woman angry...but a woman in love. She sees Jeb
McKettrick as a liar and a cheat and three kinds of devil.
He ruined her reputation and her life and is, as Chloe
states it, "a sorry excuse for a man." Rafe, Kade and Jeb McKettrick all want the Triple M and the
race is still going on. The first son to marry and give
Angus, their father and family patriarch, a grandchild,
inherits it all. Chloe claims she is a McKettrick because
she has already "tied the knot" with Jeb. Jeb does not
agree. He sees a wedding picture of Chloe with another man,
determines their wedding is a farce, gets drunk and skips
town. Now they are together once again and the battle begins. You
will love the ending when the strong and savvy women these
brothers were smart enough to marry take the bull-by-the-
horns and end the race. It's a hoot and utterly enchanting. Ms. Miller delivers another marvelous tale of life and love
in the American West. This trilogy captures your heart and
teaches the beauty of family loyalty. SECONDHAND BRIDE
sparkles with the passion of two adventurous hearts, meant
to be together and too stubborn to admit it until it's
almost too late. This trilogy brings to mind the beautiful
words of one of my favorite Willie Nelson songs: "My Heroes
Have Always Been Cowboys." Boy, that's the truth. You'll
love every word.

SummaryTo win his father's ranch, a hard-living cowboy settles
down and takes a wife -- another man's wife!
The youngest McKettrick brother, Jeb, is the wild one who
never could stay out of trouble. And trouble is what he
gets when he proposes to Chloe Wakefield. No sooner had he
and the pretty schoolteacher tied the knot than Jeb
discovers she's already married! After a major dustup with
Chloe in a Tombstone barroom, an irate Jeb hightails it
back to the Triple M Ranch, certain that his chances of
winning the spread in a marriage race with his brothers are
dashed.
Now Chloe has come to Indian Rock, hoping to find her
beloved uncle John and a much-needed teaching post. But
when she unexpectedly crosses paths with Jeb, her rage --
and passion -- flare even stronger than back in Tombstone.
Chloe never intended to mislead Jeb about her previous
marriage to a scoundrel of a man. But when she finds out
Jeb needs a bride and a baby in order to inherit the Triple
M, she is livid.
Learning to trust will be the hardest part of this mixed-up
marriage -- until a stagecoach robbery and the return of a
dangerous stranger prove to Jeb and Chloe that they need
each other to love and honor as long as they both shall
live.
