"Gothic at its best!"
"After The Music" Even though this was a
novella in an anthology, I didn't feel as if I was
shortchanged in this captivating story. Ever since Jessica's mother died under questionable
circumstances, she's watched Dillon's twin children. Then
unexplainable accidents start to happen. Now she feels as
if she has no recourse except to take them to Dillon's
private island where she knows they will be safe. Dillon hasn't been the same since his wife and her
cohorts died in a horrible fire and he ran back into the
house to save Jessica and his children, not knowing that
Jessica had already gotten Trevor and Tara to safety. He is
now horribly scarred and he'll never be able to play the
guitar like he used to be able to. Dillon's band has asked him to put together some
music to record. They all need the money so Dillon invites
them to his island not knowing that Jessica is on her way
also. When everyone arrives, strange things start
happening with no explanation. Can Dillon and Jessica
figure things out before things go too far? I am an avid fan of gothics and Christine Feehan
has written a gothic novella that is not only a page turner
but is highly recommended! "The Lady In The Locket" This story had it
all. It was gothic in nature, had a time traveling
Highlander, an eerie castle and a malevolent ghost. I was
enthralled throughout the whole story. Rachel Hudson is on a mission to bring her parents'
ashes back to their beloved Scotland. While there she
stays in Glengarren, a Scottish castle where her parents
met long years ago. While Rachel is there, very eerie
things
start to happen and one night during a fierce storm, Duncan
MacGregor's portrait comes to life. He cannot fathom why
he's there but he and Rachel fall in love and he has to
battle the ghost of his most hated enemy. This book is a must read. I thoroughly enjoyed
both stories!
