"...now you don't"

While in New Orleans during Mardi Gras, Ellie Byron witnessed a murder. She is now living in Toussiant, Louisiana and is the owner of the bookstore Hungry Eyes. Ellie is thrownfor a loop when she learns that Charles Penn, the man convicted of that murder has escaped and may be on his way to Touissant.

Ellie has a past that she has taken great care of putting behind her, and now that past is threatened by the reappearance of Charles Penn. Joe Gable, her close friend and lawyer offers to help protect her until the threat is gone./ Ellie is elated but is also worried that her true feelings for Joe will come to light.

For years Joe has kept his feelings for Ellie a secret, but when sheis threatened, he decides to make his feelings to her known. Movingin with Ellie until the murderer is caught could turn out to be either the smartest thing he has ever done or the dumbest thing.

Now there is another murder and Ellie's friends have circled around her to protect her, but is the person they are lookingfor the real murderer?

Ever since I finished KISS THEM GOODBYE last year, I have been anxiously awaiting the next installment of Stella Cameron's Touissant, Louisiana series. Thank goodness with the arrival of NOW YOU SEE HIM, I don't have to wait any longer. Ellie and Joe's story was well worth waiting for, not to mention revisiting with old friends like Spike and Vivian Devol, Father Cyrus and Madge and the other inhabitants of Touissant.

NOW YOU SEE HIM has the kind of story that fans of Ms. Cameron love. Characters are people you would love to hang out with and some of the most evil villains you will ever come across. You never know until the end, who is the real bad guy and you can't help but root for Joe and Ellie to get together as well as other people in the town you know that are meant for each other.

NOW YOU SEE HIM is not only a must read, it is also a must re-read to enjoy it a second time before putting on your keeper shelf.

Summary

Death at Mardi Gras

Ellie Byron witnessed the first murder
Two years ago during Mardi Gras a young woman was brutally killed with an ice pick. Charles Penn, a hard-eyed man with a history of violence, was convicted. But Ellie was never certain of his guilt. Now, while being transported between maximum security prisons, he's escaped.

Death in Diamonds

Suddenly another woman is found dead, lying cold on a bed of diamonds in a New Orleans jewelry shop. Recognizing that both murders mirror the crimes in bestselling novels by Sonia Elliott and must be connected, the police show up at Ellie's Toussaint, Louisiana, bookshop. The first murder had frightened Ellie, but their news of a second terrifies her. Afraid for her own safety, she turns to the only person she really trusts: attorney Joe Gable. Joe would give his life to protect Ellie, but neither he nor Ellie knows just how deadly and brilliant an enemy they face—or how near he is.

Death of a Witness

When the third book in Elliott's mystery series is released, Joe and Ellie realize that time has run out. In this book, the killer eliminates the only threat to his freedom. The last death will be the death of a witness.
