"Fun story in Dorchester's new Making It chick-lit line."
You'd think that working for one of the most prestigious
law firms in Boston would earn Shannon McCormick the
approval of her overachieving family. Problem is, she isn't
a lawyer, she's the firm's social director, responsible for
the care and nurturing of the summer interns. When her
choice of venue for a party meets with the disapproval of
the firm's managing director, she finds herself in danger
of being fired for "unbecoming behavior." To make life even more difficult, the newest partner at the
firm usurps her secretary and starts dating her best friend
and roommate. She's broken up with her boyfriend of two
years, and he's taken to following her around, trying to
convince her that she's making a mistake. He's aided in his
quest by Shannon's mother, who continues to invite Max to
family gatherings, hoping Shannon will change her mind. Shannon turns to her friend, Van Reinhart, who's always
there with a chocolate bar, a friendly ear and a well-timed
compliment. As things get more complicated in her life and
more difficult at work, Shannon comes to rely more heavily
on her friendship with Van, only to discover that he's
hiding something from her. Predictable in places, but fun just the same, UNBECOMING
BEHAVIOR is an enjoyable diversion for a lazy Sunday
afternoon.
