"Fantastic, fast-paced werewolf romance."
For small-town cop Jessie McQuade, life is all about what
she can see, feel and hear. She's no dummy; she doesn't
believe in all the woo-woo superstitions of the local
inhabitants and she certainly doesn't subscribe to any
Native American legends. That is until a local school
teacher hits a wolf on the highway, then stops to check on
the animal and is bitten. Jessie tracks the bleeding wolf
and the trail leads her to a beautifully sculpted naked man
standing in the forest. Jessie's problems begin when the teacher develops a rapid
case of unusual rabies and dies, after which her body turns
up missing. Now Jessie's efforts to follow the facts lead
her down the road to the supernatural. In desperation, she
turns to Native American Will Cadotte, a professor and
expert in wolf clan legend and her man from the forest. Will knows there's more going on than the spread of rabies,
especially when Jessie tells him she found a wolf totem on
the highway at the scene of the accident. Enter wolf hunter
Edward Mandenauer, whose life's career has been hunting
wolves of a supernatural nature. Mandenauer is convinced
the small Wisconsin town is being overrun by werewolves.
Jessie thinks he's full of hot air. But as time goes by and
more unusual events unfold, Jessie becomes a believer. Then
she must worry whether her lover, the beautiful Will, is
also a werewolf. Ms. Handeland has crafted a wonderful story that will have
you wondering until the very end just who is and who isn't
a werewolf. A great fast-paced read that I highly
recommend.

SummaryBy the light of a blue moon, danger prowls
Miniwa, Wisconsin is under siege, but not by the usual
summer tourists. The area's normally shy wolf population has
begun stalking human prey, and their victims have been
disappearing... or worse. Something is happening in the
woods. Something brutal and primitive...
and desire is unleashed...

forcebut nothing as intriguing as the gorgeous, naked
man she encounters while tracking a rogue wolf. Professor
Will Cadotte is a Native American activist. He's also the
only man capable of distracting Jessie from her work. And
for a cop, distractionno matter how
pleasurablecan be deadly. It's against Jessie's better
judgment to accept Will's help in her investigation, yet she
soon finds herself doing exactly thatand more. Will's
dark, penetrating eyes see into a part of Jessie's soul she
never knew existed. It's exhilarating...and terrifying.
Now, as a town's deepest secrets come to light, no one is
safe: not friends, lovers, or strangers. And as Jessie
follows a bloody trail to the shocking truth, she'll have to
decide who she can trust when the moon is full...
