"Terry Saltz and his friends are investigating another murder"
Terry Saltz is now moonlighting at Smitty's. He and some
of his friends have a great little carpentry business.
Plus he's still sharing the double-wide trailer with his
childhood friend Danny and their new friend John, who is a
policeman. Life is going great. That is until they find a dead woman in a car in a snow
storm. She's been murdered. The night before she was at
the bar playing in the pool league for the opposing team.
At first the guys let the police do the investigating, but
then they begin to look into things. Their friend, Bud, asks them to look into the death of his
good friend Ernie Burdett. It was billed as a car
accident, but Bud can't accept that. When they meet his
widow and her family, things don't seem right. While
looking into Ernie's life, Terry runs into one of his
older
brothers, Berk. Throughout the investigation, Terry is
concerned that Berk may be involved. Especially after
they
determine it was murder! These guys get themselves into various interesting
situations while investigating. They aren't the type of
guys you would expect to be looking into murder. Add into
that the blizzard and you have a very interesting story. I especially like this series. The author has created
such
a wonderful character in Terry. And having it told in his
own voice is so wonderful. I feel as if he is sitting
there telling me the story while I read the book. Great
job! What can I say about Bump, Gruf, Danny, Bud, John
and
Allen. They work so well together. The author has done a great job of keeping the cussing to
a
minimum, just enough to make them credible. This is a
terrific cozy! I highly recommend it! It is a fast read,
too.
