"Beautifully emotional Scottish tale."
It began with a curse: "No bride of a Maclean will live
long or happy, and every Maclean will suffer for it." Rory Maclean has already lost two wives. Maggie had his
heart. Anne had his loyalty and gratitude. He vowed never
to marry again. For the past 10 years, Rory has been
captain of his own merchant vessel. He's a seaman and
trader by choice. The reason Rory has returned to Scotland
is not to sire an heir, as his clan would like to see, but
to create peace between the Macleans and the Campbells.
Duty is the only thing that could bring him back, for the
sea is solace and Scotland is pain. Felicia Campbell has always thought herself plain and not
much of an enticement to a future husband, unlike her
beautiful, gently bred cousin (and best friend), Janet
Cameron. Her one and only worth to her uncle is marriage.
But he promises her to a tyrant of a man, many years older
than she; a marriage she will not accept. Felicia flees her
home only to be caught by the Macleans and brought to their
stronghold. Fearing for her safety, she leads them to
believe she's her cousin, Janet, a Cameron, not a Campbell.
Felicia finds herself smothered by care, by worry, by
concern. No one has ever shown such bother over her. When Rory and Felicia's eyes meet for the first time, they
see calm and peace, fire and storm. The combination is
irresistible to them. Felicia shows a passion for life
that's been missing in Rory's for too long, but he must
resist temptation. Felicia has a different plan, but how
does she seduce someone so determined to be honorable? BELOVED IMPOSTER is a wonderful Scottish tale wrought with
emotion, tender in its telling and heart-wrenching in its
beauty. Ms. Potter captures our hearts and gifts us with
another beautiful story. It makes one yearn to journey to
Scotland, listen for the call of the distant bagpipes and
follow them to the Maclean laird where our romantic
adventure awaits.
