REVIEW

"Fast-paced, entertaining romantic suspense."

After being shot while photographing an insurance fraud, Diana Gordon fled the San Francisco world of private investigation to a little town where she felt she could be safe...by never revealing her past vocation. While co- chairing an art show with a handsome chiropractor who talks to his late wife in the cemetery, the body of the town's foremost female leader is discovered. Now, Diana "Flash" Gordon gets reluctantly pulled into the investigation while analyzing her feelings for the chiropractor.

A fast-paced story that does an excellent job depicting the intensity of small-town relationships, SNAP SHOT amuses, entertains and thrills until the last page. The assorted characters are detailed and well-formed. Chittenden is realistic in her creation of the characters; she demonstrates well that not everyone lives up to their public facades. This is the perfect book in which to dive quickly and deeply; it's the kind of book where the reader finishes and realizes that the real world has gone on around the periphery of the story.

Snap Shot, a Berkley Sensation Romantic Suspense, due out on September 7, is Meg Chittenden's 37th book. Diana "Flash" Gordon, one time PI, now a professional photographer has come north to Port Findlay Washington to get away from the "life of crime" she's been leading. She wants peace and quiet and calm-living. But it's not going to happen. First of all, while co-chairing a photography show with Connor Callahan, she comes upon the dead body of one of Port Findlay's chief do-gooders, who turns out not to be so good after all. Then she gets drawn into helping to find the murderer, which brings her up against some pretty tough customers. And at the same time she's trying to keep a rein on her escalating feelings for that same Connor Callahan--the one who is still having conversations with his dead wife.

Summary

Diana Gordon is a Private Investigator in San Francisco. Shadowing a man suspected of Insurance Fraud, she is shot. Already fed up with getting beaten up, and dealing with low lifes and dirtbags, she quits the business as soon as she recovers and moves away from the City—way north to quiet, historic Port Findlay, Washington, where she opens a photography studio—Photomania—and settles down to a peaceful life.

Connor Callahan is a chiropractor in Port Findlay and is still mourning the death of his young wife. Connor and Diana meet when handling the local photography exhibit. When they arrive to open up the show for the judges, they discover the body of Rosemary Barrett, the president of the Arts Alliance----she's been shot.

While Diana and Connor begin investigating the murder of Rosemary, Diana can't help but wonder if this shooting is related to the one she suffered in San Francisco.
