"Delightful Regencey romance in the Northrup family saga."
Tessa Seaton, a country baronet's daughter and
granddaughter to a horse trainer, inherited a special gift
that allows her to communicate with horses. Her uncle
exploits her talent for his own unethical purposes. Tessa
cannot object for fear of causing her invalid father any
upset or exertion. Tessa keeps the poor condition of the
estate and the lack of finances from him, fearing it would
dangerously harm his health. Feeling increasingly cornered
by her uncle, Tessa rebels by developing an unwise
infatuation with a London lord. Lord Anthony Northrup, the middle son of the powerful Duke
of Marland, swears hunting with an exceptional horse is one
of the greatest joys in life. He has returned to the
countryside from London where he felt as pursued as a fox
by the society misses. As he leaves the city behind, an
enthusiastic Anthony revels in the freedom and excitement
of fox hunting. A talented horsewoman immediately snags his
attention when she enters the male-dominated hunt. It does
not take long for Anthony to realize he is falling in love
with the spirited Tessa. Anthony acknowledges something is seriously wrong in the
Seaton household. Enlisting his friends, he attempts to
expose the numerous deceptions involving the Seaton family.
He hopes to free Tessa as the truths are exposed. Ms. Hiatt creates a glorious reading experience with this
delightful Regency tale. The colorful portrait of the hunt
and horses capture readers' imagination as they are thrust
in the rider's seat. TAMING TESSA is another winner in the
Northrup family saga.
