"Inheritance of a lifetime!!"
Sisterchicks are on the road again! Meet Joanne and
Melanie, real life sisters and as their mother always
said -- almost twins as they were both born only sixteen
months apart. Like most sisters they spent a great deal
of their childhood at odds until they reached their late
teens and then they became friends as well as sisters. Now both in their forties, they get what they think could
be a chance of a lifetime. They find out that their
deceased Uncle has left them some beachfront property in
Mexico. It doesn't take them long to make arrangements to
travel by cruise ship (the first cruise of their lives)
and then by rental car to the property located in San
Felipe. The entire adventure doesn't quite go as planned as they
find themselves into one predicament after another from an
outbreak of hives to showing up to the captains dinner in
the wrong clothes. However they dock in Ensenada in one
piece and are ready to grab their previously arranged
rental car and head for the cabin. Only once again things
go from bad to worse when they realize they've missed the
time frame to pick the car up in and the only thing they
can get is a yellow jeep with no top! Sporting sombreros
to protect their heads and taking off again they run into
one mishap after another yet AGAIN until finally arriving
at ..... their trailer on the beach. Gunn once again shows us her wonderful sense of humor as
we wonder how these two sisters will ever survive this
trip. Having read all of Gunn's previous Sisterchicks
books and loving them, I found this particular one fell a
tiny bit short not only the in the size of the book but in
the relationship that developed between Joanne and
Melanie. However the book does have many laugh out loud
moments and you'll enjoy the special moments where Joanne
talks to Melanie about her new relationship -- a
relationship with God. Sisterchick fans won't have too long to wait until the
next book hits the shelves as it is due out in April of
2005 so be sure to mark your calendar as this time we are
headed down under!
