"An outstanding historical. Highly Recommended!"
Gillian Leigh is an accident waiting to happen.
Everywhere she goes, chaos ensues. She's already five and
twenty so she's 'on the shelf' so to speak. Her aunt and
uncle in America raised her anyway so she's an uncouth
colonial. Now she's back in England staying with her cousin
Charlotte. Lord Noble Wessex, The Black Earl, takes one look
at Gillian and just has to meet her. She's refreshing and
different from most of the debutantes. He's looking for a
bride to be a mother to his son and Gillian seems to be
just what he's looking for. He'll just have to curb her
enthusiasm but that doesn't seem to be too bad a job or is
it? Now if he can just get society to accept him after the
scandal of the accusation that he murdered his first wife,
he'll be set. This is without a doubt one of the funniest
historicals I've read in a long time. Gillian's antics and
the way she interferes in Noble's life are just absolutely
hilarious. Gillian is such a refreshing heroine and is
just what Noble needs in his bitter lonely cold life.
Nick, his son, also needs Gillian to pick up the pieces of
his shattered life and put them all back together as a
family. I highly recommend this most outstanding book.
