"Interesting ethical twist in this romantic suspense."
Damien Black is a retired art thief, one who has probably
made millions or more from stealing famous paintings. He's
retired, but is asked to do just one more job. Should he do
it? Can he still pull it off? These are the questions that
fill his mind until he meets the new art director of the
very museum he is supposed to steal from. Angel Lafonte is almost just that - an angel in the eyes of
Damien. She's thrilled when she meets Damien and amused by
the angle he takes in getting a date with her. She likes
the lavish gifts he showers her with. She wants a personal
life, but an overbearing brother has made privacy almost
impossible. Damien comes to the rescue and the two are able to spend
quality time together without the nosy brother finding out.
Damien is ready to choose Angel over the art job, however
someone else has entered the scene to complicate matters.
He has to steal the painting or suffer the ultimate
consequences. Personal ethics aside, I enjoyed the playful bantering
between Angel and Damien. Ms. Byrd captured my attention
with witty dialogue, scorching love scenes and a most
interesting twist.
