Vegas dancer Lainie Terrel is a single mother with a couple of problems. The lack of a babysitter is taken care of by her accountant neighbor, Harry Ambrewster. Outwitting her ex, Joey, when he comes looking for their son isn't as easy to solve, but again, it's Harry who steps in to help.

Harry has admired Lainie from afar for a long time, and when her ex comes knocking, he whisks her and her four-year- old son, Dexter, off to his mother's home. Things spiral quickly out of his control as soon as Harry's grandchild- hungry mom, former showgirl Rona, sets her sights on Dexter. With the aid of Rona's boyfriend, Leo, who may or may not have mafia connections, and Rona's former showgirl neighbors, the Temptresses in Temporary Suspension (TiTS), Lainie and Harry are soon in disguise and headed for Sedona.

The time-share where they find themselves leaves a lot to be desired, but once they get around the rattlesnakes and an over-zealous salesman, they have eyes only for one another. It's a snake of a different type that interrupts their idyll when Joey tracks them down, and it's up to Harry, Rona, Leo and the TiTS to save the day when there's a kidnapping and an attempt on Lainie's life.

Ms. Lewis has a winner with THE NERD WHO LOVED ME. She's written a laugh-out-loud, sexy romp that will capture readers from page one. I love her odd-ball characters and the wacky situations she creates for them. I couldn't put this one down and can't wait to recommend it to friends!
