A Bridge to Love

REVIEW

"Wonderful story and characters - hard to put down."

Charlie Berglund writes an adventure column. After picking an adventure, she then writes about how it feels from the viewpoint of an ordinary person like herself, who probably can't do it.

Jack Lanett is a meteor hunter and leads a fairly adventurous life. Charlie lands an interview with Jack, but on the way, she witnesses a dog being hit by the cab next to her. He's a very big dog and Charlie can't manage to lift him by herself. Unfortunately, the closest person to the scene is the guy she's to interview. Jack agrees to help her and even drives her to the vet's office.

Charlie is a rescuer of dogs, cats and people. She's also beautiful, and Jack is captivated. But Charlie wants a child more than anything, and she's in the process of adopting a Chinese baby. When she has problems with the adoption agency because of her career in adventure, Jack offers the perfect solution.

This was one of those books I could not put down - a heroine who's truly likable, not to mention smart, a hero who's strong, but not stupid, and a story that's full of twists and turns. The interplay between the main characters is so real, it could almost be you. A really great read.

Summary

In Shower of Stars, two unlikely lovers find that the brightest star in the night sky is only a glimmer compared to the blaze that burns in their hearts...

Charlotte "Charlie" Berglund wants a child—desperately. When her adoption caseworker concludes that being an adventure travel writer is not compatible with single parenthood, Charlie must rethink her profession. She decides to write a book about New York's hottest new celebrity: Jack Lanett, meteorite hunter extraordinaire.

Jack hates being front-page news but he's found what may be the most valuable space rock in the world: a potentially life-bearing meteorite from Mars. Publicity will drive up the price so he agrees to one disastrous interview.

Whether stargazing in the hills of Pennsylvania or rubbing shoulders with the social elite of Manhattan, Charlie and Jack find a passion neither one expected.
