REVIEW

"The first book in The Spirits Are Willing series!"

Andy Branigan has been delegated to writing fluff pieces for the Denver Post. That's the reason he is at the Maiden Falls Inn researching a story about it being turned into a honeymoon hotel. It's funny too because this very inn used to be a bordello. It's been rumored that there are ghosts of the ladies of the evening still there. They all passed away during a fatal gas leak.

All Belle Bulette cares about is earning her gold stars and her notches so she can ascend to the Big Picnic in the Sky. How can she do anything with a single fellow who requests her room? Well, she'll just have to figure something out, won't she?

Daphne "Renegade" Remington has turned into a bored up-staid fiancée of G. D. McCormick who was fun until he decided to run for Governor. Daphne can't stand it. She figures she'll just run away to Maiden Falls for a little while and kick up her heels. After all her ancestor Charlie lived near there before he discovered gold. When she gets there she can't believe there are no rooms at the inn.

Andy Branigan just happens to be in the lobby when Daphne strolls in like the spoiled rich girl he believes she is. He knows there's a story here somewhere and if he plays his cards right, maybe he'll be in for the biggest scoop of his career. He follows her down the street to a coffee shop and gives her a proposition, one she might can't refuse. At least he hopes that will be the case. Will she go for it?

This fun paranormal contemporary with a touch of the old west was a joy to read. Even though Belle was a manipulative ghost, I still wanted her to get her happily ever after as much as I did Andy and Daphne. I'm thrilled to report that this book satisfied the romantic in me on all levels! Thanks, Colleen Collins for such a great read!

Daphne Remington, socialite bride on the lam, runs right into the arms--and room--of a sweet-talkin', good-lookin', double-dealin' reporter named Andy Branigan, a guy who is exactly wrong for a press-phobic girl like her. Too bad the room they're sharing was once the property of Belle Bulette, the baddest bawd in the former 1890s' bordello turned honeymoon hotel. With ghostly shady lady Belle gunning for them, how long can Daphne and Andy hold out?

Summary

A honeymoon hotel...

Daphne Remington's fate as the perfect socialite is practically sealed. But before giving in to la vie en beige and a matronly string of pearls, she's determined to have one last bit of fun. Only, her fling could be a bust when the hotel she hits has no vacancy—until a guy with charm to spare offers to share his room. Looks as if her adventure just got a little more interesting!

...and a supernatural attraction

Reporter Andy Branigan has a way with words and a suite he's more than happy to share with the sexy adventuress. Funny, before Daphne arrived, he hadn't noticed the hotel's seductive atmosphere. Now it's as if someone is putting sensual ideas in his head. And all he can think about is how to convince Daphne to share more than the suite!
