"A hunky millionaire Marine!"
Striker Koslowski can't believe what his grandfather,
the great Hank King, has done to him. He did in death what
he never could do in life and that's to make Striker take
over his oil company in Texas. The Marine Corps thinks it
is in everybody's best interest that Striker travel down
and make sure the company stays on even keel. Kate Bradley, Hank King's lawyer, is young,
beautiful and rich. She's also had a secret crush on
Striker since she first saw him when she was 17 and he was
19. Kate is also the very kind of woman that Striker stays
well away from. Striker reluctantly goes with Kate back to Texas
and decides to run the company like the Marines is run. He
makes some people angry with him but he doesn't care. If
he's taking over the company, it's going to be done
correctly to the best of his ability. Striker and Kate also spend quite a bit of time
together albeit reluctantly. Striker can't believe how Kate
isn't the typical snobbish little rich girl. Kate still
has her schoolgirl crush on Striker which she tries
desperately to fight. Kate knows Striker won't be there
forever. He'll go back on active duty but the closer they
become, she hopes that something may come of their
attraction. Since I live in a Marine town, books about Marines
interest me and this one was marvelous! Cathie Linz has
the Marine attitude down to a science! Striker walks the
walk and talks the talk. It just takes a strong woman like
Kate to make him bend just a little bit. This is my first
book by Cathie Linz but I guarantee it won't be my last!
