"Thrilling suspense and great characters."
Imogen Page is grieving the death of her brother when she
receives a call from the FBI, requesting her help with the
Loverboy case. He's a serial killer and Imogen has been the
only person successful at deciphering the collage pictures
he sends as clues. Pulled in despite her misgivings, Imogen is certain that
Rosalind Carnow, a nuclear physicist who has disappeared,
is the latest kidnapping victim of Loverboy. She flies to
Rosalind's home and runs into her rumored boyfriend, Benton
Arbor, who refuses to believe the kidnapping has nothing to
do with Loverboy. But when no ransom demand appears, he
becomes scared that Imogen is right and that one of his
best friends is in the hands of a murderer. Imogen does her best to ignore her attraction to playboy
automotive mogul Benton -- he's not her type and he's much
too arrogant. He insists on investigating the kidnapping on
his own and refuses to share the information (he says FBI
stands for -- Fast-breaking Information). Finally, they
agree to work together and those flames ignite. But is
Benton in love with Rosalind? Imogen is scared to share her
heart, though her body is ready to leap into the fray! I have never yet been disappointed in a Michele Jaffe book.
There is great depth to these characters, their pain, their
joy all are laid out for the reader. I loved LOVERBOY.
