"Lyrically crafted story!"
San Antonio, Texas A car collision six months ago left Colleen James' life in
tatters. Physically she's a wreck, not totally recovered
from her injuries. Emotionally, she's a mess because her
sister, Sharon, died in that same crash and her niece and
nephew are now living at the Chalmers Ranch with their
paternal uncle, Cade Chalmers. Colleen has tried several
times to get in touch with Cade but he won't return her
calls or acknowledge the letters she's sent him. Finally,
realizing she has no alternative but to seek him out
personally, Colleen gathers up the courage to get her still
aching body behind the wheel of a car for the first time
since the accident and make the long road trip to Chalmers
Ranch. Uppermost in her mind is the welfare of the
children, the only remaining relatives she has in the
world, and she won't let her fear of driving or facing up
to Cade, stand in the way. Convinced by his recently deceased brother, Craig, that
Colleen had no desire to remain in contact with the
children, Beau and Amy, Cade Chalmers is surprised to find
her at his doorstep. He also realizes soon after meeting
her that Colleen genuinely loves the children and is deeply
concerned about their future. Taking into account her
fragile physical condition, Cade decides the only logical
way of providing a safe and secure environment for the
children is for Colleen and him to make the ultimate
commitment ~ marriage! THE WIFE HE CHOSE, the latest Harlequin Romance by Susan
Fox, is a lyrically crafted story that will leave a
satisfying smile on your face. Not only is the story
refreshing like a breath of fresh air, but it also has a
marvelous depth that wraps around the heart and engulfs the
reader in powerful emotions. Colleen James is very easy to warm up to and identify
with. It didn't take me long to start rooting for her.
Colleen's quiet determination and desire to put the
children's happiness first shone bright and clear through
Ms. Fox's graceful narration. Cade Chalmers is a hero any
woman could easily lose her heart to. I could certainly
understand why Colleen fell in love with him. His
magnetically macho yet tender aura was evident from the
very beginning and I admired the way he didn't let a
misunderstanding blow out of proportion or color his
judgment. Susan Fox's THE WIFE HE CHOSE is a romance that will
definitely delight her fans and I highly recommend it to
all readers of category romance!
