"A fun grown up fairy tale"
Peter and Wendy may not be children anymore, but that
doesn't mean they've grown up. Or have they? Wendy Thompson is a successful attorney, engaged to be
married, in Arizona when she receives word that the mother
of her dearest childhood friend has died. Some strange
urge convinces her to return home for the funeral, even
though she never knew the woman well. Booking a flight on
a new airline, Neverland Airways, she takes the first
flight she can get. Never in a million years did she
expect to see him on the plane, the one who taught her how
to fly... Peter Kelley lives in California now, where he
ended up after being sent to boarding school as a young
boy, then going on to college. He has no ties to the home
of his youth and hasn't for many years, but he's never
forgotten the little girl with whom he whiled away many
happy hours as a child. When the two bump into each other on a flight home, old
feelings that had never been fully understood, and thought
pushed away forever, come rushing to the surface again,
the love they feel for each other now anything but
childish. Can they overcome past hurts and present
complications to fly again? Ms Robins has taken a childhood classic and put a new
spin on it that is anything but childlike, in spite of her
characters' vow to "never grow up!" Peter and Wendy have a
new story that will enchant readers, just like the fairy
tale did in its original form. Wendy's love for Peter,
though innocent in her younger days, held strong even
after he left, not wavering, though pushed far back in her
heart as something that could never be. Peter had never
forgotten Wendy, and he often wondered about her in his
adult life. When they finally have the chance to be
together, he refuses to let her go again. None of the cast has been forgotten in this modernized,
grown-up version of the tale. Readers will find Hook, the
Lost Boys, Bell, even the crocodile, though they are now
in new forms and in some cases, play slightly different
roles now. For those who, before growing up, loved the
story of Peter Pan, this story can bring back fond
memories, shaping them into new emotions to be experienced
as an adult. Fly on over to the computer and pick this
story up today, and again share the joy of "never growing
up." © Kelley A. Hartsell, April 2004. All rights reserved.

SummaryPeter taught Wendy how to fly. As children, they shared
first love, magic, and adventure until the day he was
forced to leave. Reunited almost twenty years later, their
feelings for each other flared to life once more. But was
it enough? These days Wendy kept her feet firmly planted on
the ground, while Peter continued to reach for the sky.
Could they meet somewhere in between, and find their
happily ever after?
