REVIEW

"Great Beach Read"

Cynthia Potter is a young woman looking to find a better future for herself. As a teenager she sufered from neglect and abuse. Cyn, as she prefers to be called did what she felt she had to do to protect herself. Her past is far from pretty, and now she's trying to run from it. However the further she runs the closer her past seems to be.

She's no longer a teenager, and she is desperate to live a better life. To try to obtain this goal she closes her eyes, and lets her finger pick a new spot to live. She feels drawn to someplace by recurring dreams she is having, but she has no clue where that place is. She allows fate to help her decide, and finds her self in Visitation, North Carolina.

Her arrival in Visitation is less than stellar. The first person she meets is Bruce Kelly. They meet when Bruce tries to play knight in shining armor to her damsel in distress. Cyn however is not a willing damsel, and the interaction between the two of them as they work out the ups and downs of their new relationship makes for entertaining reading.

Ms. Foster has written about Visitation and the residents in such a way that the reader can feel the pulse of the town. As you read I think you'll feel like I did that it would be nice to find a town where all the residents work together, and support one another regardless of their pasts.

It's been a long time since I read a book by Lori Foster. The last ones I read were in my opinion strictly romance. I was pleasantly surprised to see some suspense elements in this book. Ms. Foster is as skilled at keeping me guessing as some of my favorite romantic suspense authors. I'm now sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for her next release.
