REVIEW

"Intense sensuality and emotionally enriched love scenes..."

The launch of the new Harlequin Blaze line continues with another entry in the Sexy City Nights series by top selling author, Janelle Denison. HEAT WAVES is a steamy contemporary romance set in fiery Chicago with Erica McCree and Ian Carlisle, a pair of lovers you'll not soon forget as they set the city of Chicago on fire with their sexy on air repartee.

Erica is the host of WTLK's nightly radio talk show, HEAT WAVES. She tackles plenty of interesting, sexy topics during her show, but the air waves really begin to heat up when a nightly caller challenges her sensual theories in the most interesting way. In order to chalk up more ratings, Erica's producer urges her to take advantage of the on-air chemistry between her and Ian. Thus begins the Sexy City Nights campaign, and a sensual journey Erica never expected.

Erica is a complex heroine with multiple layers to her intriguing personality. While she is deeply attracted to Ian sexually, emotionally she struggles to remain independent. Ms. Denison gives readers an intense and dead- on accurate glimpse of a woman cautious because of a past that left her with deep emotional scars, even if the woman in question doesn't fully understand how her own emotional baggage threatens her future. While she does accept her past for what it is, it isn't until she begins to question her growing attraction to Ian that she realizes just how much she's allowed her past to rule her life.

Ian Carlisle is a straight-forward hero. Incredibly sexy, confident and just a nice guy, he knows what he wants and has no qualms about taking the necessary steps to get it. He's patient and understanding when it comes to dealing with Erica's idiosyncracies, and this makes him an even more endearing hero. He's not without his own demons, but he's managed to slay most of his dragons and hasn't allowed his past to rule his future in the same manner as Erica.

It's easy to see how the Sexy City Nights series got its name as Erica and Ian share quite a few sexy nights, heating up not only the air waves but the sheets as well. Oh, and a stairwell, a limousine and the living room of Ian's penthouse apartment overlooking Lake Michigan. Fans of Ms. Denison's super sexy romances from Harlequin Temptation won't be disappointed in her debut Blaze. Sinfully sexy, HEAT WAVES is filled with the same emotionally enriched love scenes we've come to expect and look forward to from this award winning author.

Ms. Denison takes advantage of the longer format in Blaze to give readers an in-depth character study of a woman coming to terms not only with her past, but her own sexuality. You won't find gratuitous sex in this book simply to fill up pages, but instead intense sensuality, a greater depth of character and all the elements that make Janelle Denison a must read author!

Read HEAT WAVES, and get ready for a super sexy city night.

Summary

Erica knows first hand that you can hide a lot behind a microphone. Although she's made a reputation for discussing every aspect of sex on her radio talk show, she's never had to back it up . . . until a mysterious caller proves to be more irresistable in person. Their on-the-air chemistry sizzles and they heat up the airwaves debating any and all provocative issues possible. As the ratings soar, so does the sexual tension. But what will Ian do when he discovers that Erica isn't the sex expert she appears to be?
