"Another satisfying read from Virginia Kantra!"
Once again Virginia Kantra has penned an intriguing
story that glued my eyes to the pages. She takes two people
who try very hard to be self sufficient and throws them
together to see what will happen. What happens is a very
satisfying read that I thoroughly enjoyed! Eleanor Nell Dolan does her very best to make Ark
Street Clinic a success but it's very hard when most of
their clients can't afford medical care. That's where Joe
Reilly comes in. He's a reporter that Nell hopes will write
a favorable article so more donations will come in. The more questions Joe asks and the more he digs
into Nell's psyche, the more closed up she becomes. This
just gets Joe's back up to dig more into the mystery that
is Nell. What he finds out surprises him to the point that
he wants to know more. Nell is fighting hard to keep Ark Street Clinic
open and successful. She has to in order to put her
shattered self esteem back together thanks to the rat of an
ex-husband. Nell really has to struggle when she finds
discrepancies in the drug cabinet. Who would be trying to
sabotage her and the Clinic? It just can't be happening to
her yet again or can it? Joe has secrets of his own not only from Nell but
from his parents and his brothers as well. He just keeps
punishing himself almost to the breaking point. Can Nell
get him to open up and let her help him? If she can't what
will come of their relationship or do they even have a
chance at all? That remains to be seen. As I expected, Virginia Kantra has delivered one
heck of a read! I know she's always one author I can
depend on for an excellent book and this one is no
exception!
