"Fun, fast-paced whodunit."
Feeling adrift after the death of her adoptive father,
heiress Abby Rose's life has become an endless round of
iced tea and SPF 45 served pool side. When she discovers
the body of her gardener, Ben, in the greenhouse not long
after he admits to having something he needs to discuss
with her, Abby wonders if sexy detective Jeff Kline
suspects her of the murder. When Abby's ex-husband is
attacked less than a week later, she decides it's time to
do a little detecting on her own. Abby has no idea that her first foray into crime solving
will threaten all she holds dear. As she delves into Ben's
life, she discovers an earlier murder, deceiving family
members, crooked lawyers and judges and an adoption scandal
that shakes the foundation of her life. With a little help
from her twin sister, Kate, her ex-husband and Jeff, Abby's
investigation takes her all over the great state of Texas
and into the path of Hurricane Carl. PICK YOUR POISON is a fast-paced whodunit. The characters
are written with realism and a spark of humor, the action
is quick, and I was hard-pressed not to sneak a peek at the
ending. This novel launches the new Yellow Rose Mystery
series, and it's a supreme first for Sweeny.
