"Wonderful addition to the Bedegrayne family saga."
Amara Claeg and Brock Bedegrayne were once as close as
brother and sister because their families had been friends.
At some point, that friendship turned into love. When she
was 16, Amara's family betrothed her to Lord Cornley, who
violently took her innocence one night. Coming upon the
scene, Brock flew into a rage and attacked Cornley, who
eventually lost his life. Brock was forced to leave London. After being gone for several years, Brock returns and
immediately seeks out Amara. He's determined to make her
his wife. Amara tries to convince Brock she's not
interested, but when they're together, their feelings can't
be denied. However, the past is still an obstacle they have
to overcome, as well as the upcoming betrothal of Amara to
Count Prola, one of her father's business associates. On
the night of her birthday ball, Prola kidnaps Amara. Brock
and his family set out to rescue her before it's too late
and she finds herself in a similar situation as with her
first betrothed. TEMPTING THE HEIRESS is a continuation of the Bedegrayne
family saga. Ms. Pierce is such an accomplished author, her
characters become real. This story is so touching, you can
visualize Brock's disappointment when Amara turns him away
and feel Amara's confusion and remorse in doing so. An
excellent read.
