REVIEW

"Second book in Mounties series is great."

For six years, Virginia was engaged to Andrew Bullock, but two months ago, he wrote to say he'd married someone else. Now, in three days, Virginia will marry Inspector Zack Bullock, Andrew's older brother, then she'll take her medical doctor exams in less than four weeks. When an explosion at the train station occurs, Virginia finds herself treating Zack. Not knowing if he'll regain consciousness in time for the wedding, she calls it off until they can agree on a new date. When Zack finally wakes up, he realizes the explosion was no accident. To publicly announce he no longer wants to wed Virginia is the only way he can keep her safe.

When Virginia and Zack are both ordered to the Mounties' ranch, Virginia tries to stay as far away from Zack as possible. But keeping her safe is Zack's job. Soon they discover that they can't seem to stay out of each other's arms. But to be together is impossible because Zack is unable to commit emotionally.

After the threat to Virginia is resolved, Zack tells her to wear her wedding dress and meet him at the church in two days. Since it wasn't actually a proper proposal, she isn't sure how to respond. Does she back away, or does she take Zack for his word and trust he won't break her heart again?

All the characters in this story have great personalities, and the steamy attraction made it hard to put down. I had a good time reading this second book in Ms. Bridges' Mounties series.
