"Miracles do happen"
When Chelly was a young child her parents were tragically
killed. This has affected her in many ways. She has for
many years had fantasies about a man she doesn't believe
to be real, but one who has come to offer her comfort when
she has needed it most. The mystery man is named Nik, and
Chelly believes she created him when she was at a point in
her life when she needed an escape. She never dreamt that
he could be real. Nik has watched Chelly for years. While he is not mortal
it is his bad luck to have fallen for the mortal Chelly.
He is being groomed as a possible successor for the leader
of the elf-kin, and his mentor is not happy about his
unmated state. Nike feels he can't change this because he
only wants Chelly, but isn't quite yet ready to admit it. When Chelly's son is seriously injured and in danger or
dying Nik comes and takes him away. He takes him to his
home, and has a healer heal him. However he has also
turned Matthew into an elf-kin like himself. This means
he can never go back to the mortal world. He knows the
young child needs his mother, so he also brings Chelly to
his world. At first Chelly is not happy how Nik has handled the
situation, but soon comes to realize that without Nik's
help her son surely wouldn't be the happy child he now is.
Someone else sees that some intervention is needed, but
not for Matthew, but for Chelly and Nik. Fortunately when
Nik's mentor interferes Chelly and Nik are willing
participants. Make Me Believe is a quickie e-book that's not very
steamy. However I was hooked from the beginning. I've
read a few of Ms. Walker's quickies and I look forward to
reading some more of them.

SummaryChelly is going nuts...she thinks. And she's fighting for the
right to keep her little boy. Right before Christmas, her
ex announces he is going to sue for custody of their child.
Because she is losing her mind. She is talking to a man who
doesn't exist. A tall, sexy creature with wicked blue eyes
and magic in his hands. And he can't possibly exist.
After all, elves aren't real.
