Reena Cullen's village starves as a harsh new earl initiates edicts to increase his wealth. Reena realizes her people won't survive another severe winter. For years, she's heard tales of a warrior who fears no one and is always victorious. She leaves to seek this legendary warrior's protection. A map maker like her father, Reena plans to offer her skills in exchange for the warrior's defense of her village.

Magnus cultivates his image as a warrior with no soul or heart. It aids him in his quest for revenge against those who caused his mother's suffering. When Reena offers her maps, which include details of his enemy's lands, Magnus knows the time is right to exact retribution.

Magnus admires Reena, for she speaks her mind and isn't intimidated by him. She appears fragile, but her quiet strength is appealing. Reena's artist eyes see the man behind the infamous legend as she falls in love with the him.

LEGENDARY WARRIOR read. Ms. Fletcher's plot is a solid one with the only flaw being the lack of real chemistry between Reena and Magnus.
