"Delightful plot with lots of twists and turns"
Jungles of Costa Sierra Geologist Kathleen Dawson is determined to prove to her
father she's good at her job and she plans to search for a
vast underground oil field in the jungles of Costa Sierra.
However, the natives guiding her through the jungle are
uneasy and not so happy to be with her on this expedition.
There has been talk recently of the Jaguar Man, a half-man
half-beast apparition, prowling the jungles, guarding his
home against tresspassers. Kathleen believes him to be
nothing but a myth, but she can't shake the feeling of
always being watched. Then, one day she wakes up to find
herself in a large labyrinth lit by bright torches and a
captive to an almost naked man with a magnificent
physique. His name, she learns, is Guerriro and he warns
her she must leave. He is just a man protecting his home.
Or is he? Could he possibly be the Jaguar Man that has the
natives so uneasy? The fact that Guerriro is deeply attracted to Kathleen, and
she in turn feels the same, is apparent from the
beginning. Yet Kathleen knows that there are things
Guerriro hides from her. He erects a wall that stops her
from really knowing him no matter how much they may be
tempted. Controlling his emotions is not easy for
Guerriro, especially given the extent of his feelings for
Kathleen, yet he must, for he knows that his fate does not
allow for a future with the woman who has climbed into his
heart. HOLD ONTO THE NIGHT is a wonderfully paranormal romance by
author Shauna Michaels. I enjoyed the delightful plot with
its twists and turns and the story did send a few chills
down my back in the process. The characterization and
description is well portrayed and I was completely drawn
into the story from the very beginning, almost able to hear
the night sounds and feel the sensations of being in the
South American Jungles. Ms. Michaels has certainly put
forth an engaging and mystical tale that will delight the
imagination of her fans.

SummaryDr. Kathleen Dawson is a geologist heading an advance team
for a large oil company. She is investigating rumors of a
large oil deposit in the rain forest of the interior of
Costa Sierra in Central America. Being independent, she's
feisty and demanding of herself. She has worked hard to get
where she is in her profession. Her world revolves around
her job.
In the jungle at dusk she is stalked. She awakens from a
dart-induced sleep in a fog, unsure of where she is except
that she is in a cave. A man stirs in the shadows and moves
forward. Through the haze she meets the man the Indians of
the jungle refer to as the Jaguar Man. The legend says he's
a man at night, a jaguar during the day. He rules the
jungle, protecting his domain against the outside world.
