"Short contemporary romance that left me wanting more."
Payton and Marco's marriage was short-lived but fiery. When
it fell apart, she left Italy with their twin daughters,
vowing that nothing short of death would get her to return.
Now, two years later, Payton and the twins are back. She
feels it's time for the girls to become reacquainted with
their father. Marco is suspicious, feeling that Payton has ulterior
motives. She does, but they aren't what Marco thinks. She's
seriously ill and plans to leave the twins with him while
undergoing treatment. As the couple spend time together to
make the transition easier for the twins, old passions are
rekindled. This story is well-written, but it's very short. Before you
really have time to get to know the characters and care if
they get back together or not, the book is done. Like a
snack-food-fest, it's tasty, but ultimately I was left
wanting more.
