"A Marriage of Inconvenience"
Vicki Sorenson is on the verge of receiving a marriage
proposal from the perfect man. Graham is handsome, if
somewhat pretentious, and comes from a very high class
family in Florida. He deals in antiques and is perfectly
suitable for her, a woman who wants to come up in the
world and be more than the little farm girl with lazy and
uncaring parents. There is just one small matter that
must be taken care of before she can marry -- she must
divorce her first husband, Jamie. Jamie came from Ireland and desperately needed a green
card to stay in the country thirteen years before. She
agreed to marry him for $5,000.00 so that she could help
out her parents but now this decision has come back to
haunt her. She locates Jamie and flies to North Carolina where he
lives on a house boat. He is willing to sign the divorce
papers but the storm delays everything and she is stuck on
his houseboat overnight. They both genuinely like each
other but Vicki is determined to open her new antique shop
and follow through on her plans. Jamie is not so sure
that all is lost and when he comes to Florida to visit
her, certain events take place that may change Vicki's
mind and her future. Cynthia Thomason is a first time author for me and I
enjoyed her book very much. She writes like a veteran
with good dialog and a smooth and interesting story line.
I really enjoyed Jamie who is much more than he appears as
well as being sinfully handsome and charming. THE HUSBAND
SHE NEVER KNEW is in the Marriage of Inconvenience series
of Harlequin's SuperRomance line and if the other books
are as good as this one, I hope to read more of them.
THE HUSBAND SHE NEVER KNEW is a first-rate story by
Cynthia Thomason.
