"A fine intriguing story of love"
Devon Grant planned to never return to Enchantment, New
Mexico as her memories of the place are not fond ones.
Her grandmother made decisions that still hurt, but not as
much as the betrayal of Miguel Eiden, who left her heart
shattered. Sill honor and responsibility impels her to
come home to care for her ailing grandmother and to run
The Birth Place for her. Devon uncovers a secret that leaves her wondering what to
do and who to trust. She would like to turn to the Chief
of Police, but he is the one man in the world that she
would never rely on as Miguel occupies that job. Still to
protect three preadolescent children she consciously would
break the law if necessary and even turn to Miguel for
help though he is the last man on the planet she would
want to see because he can still break her heart. This is a solid tale that combines a second chance in love
with a bit of intrigue. Though the relationship between
grandmother and granddaughter adds tension it also takes
away from the dynamics of the key relationship between the
lead couple. As Devon must decide whether she can trust
the man she still loves with more than just her heart,
fans receive a fine intriguing story of love may not be
enough. Harriet Klausner

SummaryIf Devon Grant had her way, she'd turn her back on
Enchantment. There's simply too much history in that small
town. But her sense of honor has her returning to help her
ailing grandmother run The Birth Placeeven though
she's still angry about her grandmother's past actions.
And there's also Miguel Eiden, the man who broke her heart
ten years before.
Then Devon uncovers a secret and must decide what to do
and who to trustbecause in order to help three
innocent children she might have to bend, if not break,
the law. Not so easy when the new chief of police is her
old love Miguel.
