PRIVATE SCANDALS shows us what can happen when the past
comes back to haunt three different couples. In Shadows of Her Past by Joanna Wayne, Jessica
Lewis has the shock of her life when she wakes up in her
hotel room, not knowing how she got there and finding the
dead body of Senator Marcus Hayden. She has a hard time
convincing the authorities that she really doesn't know how
the dead body got in her room. Things start to look up when
the dead senator's brother Conner believes she didn't kill
him. It is up to them to find out who murdered Senator
Hayden before they do it again.
This story kept me guessing from the first page on who
really killed the senator. Joanna Wayne offers twists
and turns as we discover that Jessica's past may have come
back to haunt her. In Family Unveiled by Judy Christenberry, Vivian
Shaw has come to Will Greenfield to locate the lost
siblings of her adopted daughter Vanessa. As Will searches
for Vanessa's brothers and sisters, he will have to
overcome the prejudice he has for the wealthy and fight his
attraction to Vivian at the same time. This story is the 'make you feel good' story of the three.
It touches on an interesting subject and sets up all
kinds of possibilities for future stories. I for one am
anxious to find out how Will finds the rest of Vanessa's
siblings. This story also gives us a romance for the over 40 set
and shows that people in their forties are just as sexy as
the under 40 crowd. Sleeping With Secrets by Tori Carrington introduces
us to Gabe Wellington IV. He has returned to Toledo after
being away for ten years, to regain what his family lost
after the tragic accident of his family. He finally has
almost everything he has wanted, but things get complicated
when he meets Rachel Dubois, daughter of the man running
for the Ohio Supreme Court and also city councilwoman.
Rachel is part of the committee that is scheduled to vote
on a rezoning issue that will directly affect his company. Sleeping With Secrets by Tori Carrington, is without
a doubt the steamiest, hottest, most erotic story that Tori
Carrington has ever written. Tori Carrington once again
pushes the envelope in this steamy novella. Gabe and Rachel
set off sparks from the moment they first catch each
other's eye until the last page. I recommend keeping your
husband/boyfriend handy after reading this story. Barb Hicks
